My biggest travel bucket list has always been this: to backpack in college with my friends at the European Christmas markets. This Thanksgiving break, my friends and I planned to do exactly that! Then on Dec. 13, we finished our last final exams and boarded a plane to Iceland...
We flew to Iceland for a 50 minute layover during which we FLEW through customs as fast as possible! We landed in Zürich where we stayed for the first and last night of our trip.

After Zürich, we took a train using our interrail passes to Basel, Switzerland where we stayed for 3 nights. We took day trips to Basel, Colmar France, and Strasbourg France.

After France, we trained over to Cologne, Germany for the night!

We meandered back on over to Zürich for one final night before boarding a plane back to Iceland. However, God blessed us tremendously by delaying our flight so that we actually ended up STUCK in Iceland overnight! The airline sent us to this beautiful inn and provided food for all their inconvenienvced customers. It was truly something out of a Christmas movie.

Overall, we went to over 20 markets and ate so much cheese and chocolate, it's unbelievable! This was a dream trip and a bucket list come true.
